He is a member of Light and Colour Research Group and the ArcHC-3D Heritage Research Group at the same institution. He was a founder of APCor - Portuguese Colour Association (a member of the AIC-International Colour Association) and he is a member of ECD-Environmental Colour Design Group (AIC), CGCE - Colour Group on Colour Education (AIC) and ICOMOS- International Council on Monuments and Sites. He coordinates the MEDCROMA-Colour Measuring and Analysis, a LABCOR module. João has been focused on Colour in Architecture from 2003, with large experience in developing colour studies for architectural projects. He has participated through written papers and oral communications at the most relevant national and international conferences concerning the subjects of light, color, and architecture.
